Kuwaiti Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yaqoub Al-Sane and Austrian Minister of Justice Wolfgang Brandstetter met in Vienna yesterday to discuss ways of promoting bilateral legal and judicial cooperation. Speaking to KUNA following the meeting held in presence of Kuwait’s Ambassador to Austria and its Permanent Representative at International Organisations in Vienna H.E. Sadiq Marafi, the Kuwaiti minister said:
Kuwait is supporting the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) with USD 3 million.
The contribution was handed over on Wednesday by the country's ambassador to Austria and Permanent Delegate to the UN organizations in Vienna Sadiq Mohammad Marafi to the IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano.
The money will be used to assist in the IAEA's initiative of the peaceful use of nuclear energy and the Renewal Project for renewing the agency's eight Nuclear Applications Laboratories in Seibersdorf, Austria, and the Monaco Lab.
Kuwait has been elected Vice-President of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
Kuwait’s Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Delegate to the UN Agencies in Vienna H.E. Sadiq Marafi told KUNA, on Monday, that this nomination took place during the 6th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, currently being held in Petersburg, Russia.
The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) group of states nominated Kuwait’s Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Vienna H.E. Sadiq Marafi for the post of deputy chairperson of the Main Committee II of the 2015 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons NPT.
H.E. Sadiq Marafi, who is member of Kuwait’s delegation to the conference, expresses gratitude to the NAM members for the trust placed in him.
